New Program Additions to ECPI University Campuses

Based on market conditions and feedback from employers, ECPI University is expanding several of its programs to the following campuses:

Newport News, Virginia Campus – Now accepting applications for its new Paramedic (EMT) program. The only one of its kind in Virginia, this program allows students to earn their Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Medical Services in just 16 months through a year-round program. Existing EMTs can graduate in as little as 1 year.

In addition to coursework covering such areas as advanced life support and airway management/ventilation, ECPI University’s program includes an extensive 270 hour in-hospital clinical component with experienced preceptors and a field internship with a high-performance urban EMS agency.

Columbia, South Carolina Campus – Now offering a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer and Information Science with a concentration in Software Development. This program places emphasis on writing and maintaining source code and becoming proficient in the planning and structured process involved with software development.

Students are also instructed on how to develop efficient and scalable programs, mobile and web applications, and cloud-based software using languages and technologies such as Java, C#, Objective-C, Python, iOS, Android, jQuery, Google App Engine, BigTable, and MongoDB.

Northern Virginia Campus – As the number of cyber threats continues to escalate, demand for homeland security professionals in and around the nation’s capital continues to rise. In response, ECPI University is expanding its Homeland Security program which is designed to provide graduates with knowledge and skills in such areas as homeland security operations, terrorism and counter-terrorism, surveillance, investigations, and emergency planning.

Roanoke, Virginia Campus – With a robust and growing healthcare sector, ECPI University’s expanded Health Information Management program will serve to support the administrative needs of the Roanoke Valley’s largest employment sector. Combining medicine, management, finance, information technology, and law, this program focuses on such areas as data management, clinical workflow, and information systems.
