Now there are even more reasons for students to visit the library. Recent promotions across the campuses have included week-long stress relief activities, including origami and themed events such as mystery author scavenger hunts and poetry contests with prizes from the University’s bookstore.
Richmond/Innsbrook Campus Librarian Kristina Ryan developed a ‘Library Land’ board game in collaboration with faculty members Dee Parks and Negar Ghochaghi. A roll of the dice takes students through coursework, library resources, certifications, and lands at graduation at the end of the game.
Raleigh Campus Librarian Shannon Simmons, with help from EET faculty, has set up a ‘Maker Corner’ where students can gather to practice working with Arduino microcontroller circuit boards, Snap Circuits, and Google Cardboard. All of these efforts reflect ECPI University’s emphasis on collaboration with faculty and trying something fun and different in the Library which will appeal to today’s college students.
