“I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.”
~Leonardo da Vinci
Those words were penned five centuries ago, yet they are even more relevant today, for we live in a time of great urgency. Global competition, being what it is, requires companies to maximize productivity. That requires a special kind of workforce comprised of people who possess both technical skill and mental prowess.
That’s the kind of graduate we strive to produce at ECPI University, critical thinkers who know how to work with others to make things happen. They are doers because that’s the way they’ve been taught…hands on, applying skills for a practical purpose. We also know that technology is forever changing. Some of the skills we teach today will be obsolete in a few short years, months even.
What is never obsolete, however, is a person whose mind is focused on change. On campus, we foster an environment that emphasizes the pursuit of lifelong learning. We believe that is what produces graduates dedicated to maintaining their expertise. We support that both before and after graduation by providing students and alumni with vouchers that allow them to affordably acquire professional certifications.
What else makes ECPI University so special? Take a moment and have a look at this graduation edition of eConnect. You’ll meet people who are doers and problem solvers, people who know how to overcome life’s challenges…the kind of people employers prefer to hire.
