Alyssa Riddick, a student at ECPI University’s College of Culinary Arts, Culinary Institute of Virginia, won this year’s Thomas S. Austin scholarship from the Williamsburg Area Restaurant Association.
Celeste Mejia, a Criminal Justice Graduate of the Richmond-Moorefield campus, has been sworn in for field training as a member of the Chesterfield County, Virginia Police Department.
Incoming students Donunkia Davis and Adriana Roa have been awarded $4,000 Norfolk Tourism Research Foundation Scholarships (NTRF) to attend the Culinary Institute of Virginia (CIV). Ms. Davis is a graduate of Lake Taylor High School and Ms. Roa, Granby High School, both in Norfolk, Virginia. The mission of the scholarship is to recognize and honor talented students who want to make a positive impact on local tourism through the food and beverage industry.
Julian Aiken, has been promoted to Vice President of Technology Services. Mr. Aiken went to school at ECPI University and has worked for the University since 1992.
Kate Crockett, Development Manager-University Partnerships at the Orlando Campus, has received this year’s Volunteer Award from the Crooms Academy of Information Technology, a public school dedicated to providing innovative teaching and learning in a technology-enriched environment that prepares students for post-secondary education with industry-validated technology skills.
Shalonda Burns, a graduate of the Charleston campus, has been promoted to Assistant Controller with The Office People™, the Southeast’s fastest growing business solutions headquarters.
Dr. Toni Chamberlain, Program Director for the Bachelor of Science-Radiologic Sciences program at the Northern Virginia campus, was featured in the April/May 2019 edition of ASRT Scanner in an article about radiologic technologists’ role in controlling the spread of disease. ASRT Scanner is the bimonthly news magazine for members of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
