Columbia Campus – Lakisha Norwood was one of the students who volunteered to help fill packs for the Snack Pack Program which provides nutritional food for young public school students who do not have enough to eat through the weekend.
Greensboro Campus – Nursing students volunteered at the medical booth during the professional golf tournament, the Wyndham Championship.
Greenville Campus – The CIS Department hosted a Cyber Camp for rising 9th-12th graders, designed to serve as a launchpad for students to identify their future career path in technology or cybersecurity.
Greenville Campus – Twenty-six students from Hillcrest High School qualified to take a Medical Terminology course for college credit through ECPI University.
Greenville Campus – The Education Investors Club sponsored a food drive on campus to collect canned goods and other non-perishable food items for local charity Loaves and Fishes.
The mission behind the summer food drive was to provide food to children who would normally be receiving free school lunches.
Greenville Campus – Students, faculty, and staff are selling Chick-fil-A on campus every Tuesday through December to raise money for a second mobile mammography bus for the Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health at Bon Secours St. Francis Health System.
Greenville Campus – ECPI University hosted a workshop for STEM Scouts where budding computer professionals learned how to tear down and rebuild a PC.
Newport News Campus – The Student Leadership Association collected nonperishable food items, personal hygiene items, new and gently used clothing, children’s books, school supplies, towels, toilet paper, and cases of water for hurricane victims.
Newport News Campus – Medical Assisting students volunteered at the Alliance for Veteran Health Fair held at VFW Post 4809, assisting with healthcare screening, blood pressure checks, visual acuity, and escorted the service men and women to various doctors on site.
Richmond/Innsbrook and Northern Virginia Campuses – For the second year in a row, ECPI University hosted a FIRST Tech Challenge Workshop to help kick off a new competition year for FIRST participants. FIRST Tech Challenge teams are required to design, build, program, and operate robots to play a floor game in an alliance format. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles. Faculty members Abdul Abdalla and Khalid Taha taught several of the courses from CAD to introduction to engineering. The workshop was attended by over 450 individuals between the two campuses.
Northern Virginia Campus – A strong showing at the campus’ most recent blood drive resulted in 21 pints donated to the American Red Cross.
Raleigh – The Blood Connection Mobile Unit dropped by for one of the campus’ regular blood drives.
Richmond/Moorefield Campus – Computer and Information Science student Tracy Evans donates one of the 23 pints collected at the campus’ most recent blood drive.
Richmond/Moorefield Campus – Students, faculty, and staff held a school supply drive for the students of Blackwell Elementary School.
Virginia Beach Campus – Healthcare Administration Student Ashlynn Shedd holds up the proceeds from a Penny Wars competition to benefit Operation Blessing.
Virginia Beach Campus – The Criminal Justice Department hosted students from the Virginia Beach Police Cadet program who used the campus’ MILO range to evaluate their tactical judgment and firearms skills.
