Just like every program at ECPI University, business classes are hands-on, focused on real-world scenarios and current applications. That is clearly evident at the Richmond/Moorefield campus, where faculty member Christopher Ayers has recently developed a new Business Education Lab.
“One of the most eye-catching parts of the lab is the live stock ticker, which provides a real-time stock feed customized for each class,” says Mr. Ayers. “In BUS121, students select a stock of their choice to watch for the next five weeks. This allows them to watch the market react to events in real-time. The conference table and television are used to provide a live stream of CNBC during class, which provides a meaningful conversation about current events.

“The television also has a web camera to provide students an opportunity to present their final projects to ECPI University’s employer partners. And by utilizing the Square Register iPad app and using Moorefield Money©, students can learn about proper cash management techniques as well as the ethical issues involved with cash handling.”
The time zone clocks above the world map provide students the opportunity to learn about the challenges global marketers face when collaborating with people around the globe. Namely, it serves as a way to understand international business challenges when dealing with employees, customers, or vendors located in other time zones, giving students the kind of practical skills employers have come to expect when they hire an ECPI University graduate.
