ECPI University Launches Faculty/Staff Military & Veterans Alliance

As you may know, more than 30 percent of ECPI University’s student body is made up of military and veterans. What you may not know is that roughly 15 percent of our faculty and staff are Military or Veterans themselves. At ECPI University, our military and veteran students add a great deal of real-world experience and some good sea stories to our classes, and we enjoy having them in our ranks. The same can be said for those same faculty members.

We do a lot to support this student population through our Student Veterans of America groups, Veterans Day ceremonies, and recognition during commencement, to name just a few examples.  So why don’t we do something along the same lines for our faculty and staff who have a military background? Well, we are going to fix that! And to do so, I am pleased to announce the creation of the ECPI University Faculty/Staff Military & Veterans Alliance!  

This new group will be open to all military and veterans currently working for ECPI University.  It will be our own ‘club’ that will allow us to provide the opportunity for them to learn about available resources, network with other military and veterans working for ECPI, and stay informed about events happening in support of all military and veterans on our campuses.  By strengthening the connections and knowledge on such issues among our faculty and staff, we will definitely help increase the support we are able to provide to our students which is our main mission. 

I am looking forward to kicking off this initiative very soon. We will send information to all faculty and staff who have documented their military/veteran status in the HR Portal (UltiPro).  And we will meet virtually throughout the year to keep ECPI University in the forefront as a leader in support of active duty service members and veterans across all of higher education. Moreover, I promise that there will never be a requirement to attend a PT session!!  Please reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to get involved.
