Earning Professional Certifications, Gets Jumpstart on Career
Jonathan Windle may be stuck at home, but he’s not sitting still. In addition to his classes, he’s using all the extra time he has at home to earn professional certifications. Recently, Pearson VUE, and CompTIA made online testing available so that testers could take exams at home. Jonathan used a variety of resources to study, and was authorized to test using ECPI University’s certification study and voucher-request platform– GetCertified™.
“ECPI has been amazing during this transition,” says Jonathan. “I attended night classes my entire time at the Moorefield campus until now. I had taken online classes here and there, but nothing beats coming into class and working in teams with fellow classmates. That is something I really miss. However, I have had several classes with Mr. Noah Johnson, and he has kept the discussion boards alive with amazing questions and solutions.
“As one of the first ECPI University students to take a remote certification exam, he provided us with valuable feedback that we are using to assist other students and alumni. Jonathan’s commitment to certification testing—taking specific IT exams in a deliberate sequence over a short span of time—is very impressive. I always look forward to hearing from Johnathan and seeing what he has planned next!”

“For me, the biggest star at ECPI has been our Librarian, Deborah Vroman. She and I connected on LinkedIn a while back and we are both constantly on that platform. We have used LinkedIn to stay connected and pass information back and forth seamlessly. She has answered all my questions and assisted me on my journey of completing the Trifecta of Comptia Certs. A+, Net+, Sec+.”
ECPI University stands out among other schools in that it provides both students and graduates vouchers to take professional certification exams – by IT providers such Cisco, CompTIA and Microsoft – at a fraction of the typical cost.
“Jonathan has been such a pleasure to work with, and in assisting him with his exam prep and registration, I have learned from him,” says Richmond/Moorefield Systems Librarian Deb Vroman. “As one of the first ECPI University students to take a remote certification exam, he provided us with valuable feedback that we are using to assist other students and alumni.
