Northern Virginia Campus – A group of seventeen faculty members from Guangdong Polytechnic’s School of Science and Technology in China’s southern Guangdong province visited the campus’ engineering and computer and information science labs as part of a national tour. The purpose of the visit was to foster a better understanding of higher education across both cultures. Another byproduct of the meeting was the opening of discussions for future student and faculty exchanges.
Richmond/Emerywood Campus – Alumnae Kira Walker and Tanai Holcombe-Irions returned to campus to talk with Healthcare Administration students about the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the workplace. Both work for the Virginia Department of Health as social epidemiology data analysts. They discussed the role of public health providers and the process that graduates need to follow in order to secure high-quality jobs in public health.
